It has been noticed that rifts have opened up in the area of Tungnafellsjökull. At the same time, Bárðarbunga has been quite active. According to the layout of the grid of Munroe lines feeding the volcanoes, it looks likely that magma actually flows from the line through Tungnafellsjökull into the magma chamber under the caldera of Bárðarbunga. I am a geologist, graduated from the University of Iceland, and taught geology for a few years. Experiments show that the mantle should form convection rolls when close to the melting point. I took this literally, and calculated the dimensions and shape of these mantle convection rolls.
